The Story of Rocklin Nails

Nguyen came to America from Vietnam in 2015. She was a single mother to two children. She spent eight years working as a nail technician trying to survive and take care of her children.
She witnessed a lot of ups and downs during her career. Eventually, she realized working for other people was not for her. She realized she was unhappy and quit.
“I just quit and I don't know where to go,” she shared.
Her parents visited her during that time. She expressed her dreams of becoming a business owner of her own nail salon. Her mom, dad, sister and brother came together to support Nguyen. They collected money to help her open her own nail shop.
She had taken ownership of a nail salon in Rocklin.
“When I got this shop and I saw I thought it's not me, it's not mine. I decided only five days to do a remodel, to do everything by myself,” she shared with pride.
The interior is an organized and clean aesthetic.
Nguyen said she loves her job because of the people she can care for.
“I care about people. Yeah, I care about the plan to protect the customer. I’m happy to clean and take care with the high quality I bring. Everything comes from the bottom of my heart, not because of money,” she said.
She expressed it has been a hard journey, as she is not a traditional businesswoman.
“I'm very brand new. I'm not a businesswoman. I completely don't have experience. So I try to draw my business through connecting with the community,” she shared.
She invites customers to come in and get to know her and her business model.
“Just come to look at my shop. Just come and to look how I'm doing and what I'm care about people. And that's it,” Nguyen shared.
